I'm a sucker for tradition. Especially on the holidays! Every July 4th we get up and go to the 4th of July parade in Edmond. Then we swim and just have fun for the day. Around 6 we go across the street and meet up with our friends and Life Group (our church bible study group) for some cooking out, homemade ice cream, a friendly game of cul-de-sac wiffle ball, and then off to the local college for some awesome fireworks!!!
We are blessed to have a wonderful group of friends to spend the 4th with!
And of course...the summer time would not be complete without a trip to the doctor for Blake and his attraction to poison ivy!!!! On Saturday his nose/face started to swell so I took him to the after hours clinic. I joked with him that they would have to give him a shot in his face, so when the doc said that they would be giving him a shot...he looked at me with HUGE eyes! ;)
Poor guy!
Here he is, taking it like a "man" in his hip. This picture cracks me up.
Here's my floating hubby enjoying some swim time after the parade.
This long weekend allowed me to get in some pretty good crafting time! I'm always excited about that!
I made this wreath for my back door. I thought about putting these on my Etsy store too. Super cute and easy to make!!
I made another framed jewelry/photo holder. I just have pictures displayed on it right now, but it's going in my Etsy store for sure!! I just love how these turn out! (sorry it's sideways. For some reason every time I load it, it turns! ugh)
And lastly, I finished an order for this cute dress. LOVE this Amy Butler fabric!!
My hard working hubby spent the weekend working on the nursery!
We went from this......
To this.......... framed!!!! I was SHOCKED when he said to come look!
He was now able to start tearing out the wall to connect the two. So he put plastic up and got to work.
By the end of the weekend it looked like this. Insulated and everything! I was so proud of his hard work! All the ideas I have for this room just make me giddy!
Wow, the nursery is really coming along! Keep posting pictures! And poor little guy--how awful to have poison ivy at all, much less on his face. Gah. Looks like a great holiday!
ReplyDeleteWOW! Clint is a construction superhero. Would he want to help Matt and my dad extend our patio and put up a pergla/shade covering around Thanksgiving....
ReplyDeleteI'm serious. LOL
P.S. The picture of Blake getting his shot cracked me up. Poor boy.
P.P.S. LOVE the fabric for that dress. If I end up with a aqua/red girl's nursery I may need something made out of that fabric.
P.P.P.S (hehe) Miss you.
